Iran Nuclear Deal “Largely Negotiated” as U.S. Strikes Continue — Trump’s Peace Through Strength Strategy Is Working

Even with active military strikes underway, VP Vance says he is “extremely hopeful” Iran will agree to abandon its nuclear weapons program.

The U.S. military is simultaneously striking Iran and negotiating a peace deal with it — and as of May 27, 2026, both things appear to be working exactly as Trump designed them to.

WHAT HAPPENED

U.S. Central Command confirmed on Monday, May 25, that the military had carried out “self-defense” strikes in southern Iran, targeting missile launch sites and boats laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, even as President Trump said peace negotiations were “proceeding nicely” on social media. Captain Tim Hawkins, CENTCOM spokesman, stated the strikes were done “to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces,” while the military was “using restraint during the ongoing ceasefire.”

Vice President JD Vance told NBC News that he feels “extremely hopeful” Iran will agree to a deal that includes a commitment not to develop nuclear weapons. Trump said Saturday that a peace deal with Iran is “largely negotiated” and will be announced shortly. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking from New Delhi, confirmed the current proposal would address reopening the Strait of Hormuz as a first step, with a “very real, significant, time-limited negotiation on the nuclear matter” to follow.

Iran’s state media pushed back, with a senior Iranian diplomat claiming Tehran has not committed to anything on nuclear issues, including what to do with its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

The conflict began February 28, 2026, when the U.S. and Israel launched the largest joint military strikes in the Middle East since the 2003 Iraq invasion — targeting military, government, and infrastructure sites inside Iran.

WHY THIS MATTERS / WHAT THEY’RE NOT TELLING YOU

The mainstream media is framing this as “chaos” and “dangerous escalation.” What it actually is, is leverage. Trump is conducting military operations and diplomatic negotiations simultaneously — because that is the ONLY language Iran’s regime understands. Forty-five years of appeasement produced zero results and killed American soldiers. Three months of Trump-style pressure has Iran at the table begging for a deal.

The Strait of Hormuz blockade has caused global energy prices to spike, squeezing American consumers at the pump. Democrats are blaming Trump. But Iran — not Trump — is the one blocking the world’s most critical shipping lane. The moment that blockade ends, the pressure on American energy costs drops. Trump isn’t causing the problem. He’s SOLVING it.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Iran’s nuclear program has been the greatest unresolved threat to global security for two decades. Every previous administration kicked the can down the road. Obama gave them $150 billion and a weak nuclear deal that Iran promptly violated. Biden gave them sanctions relief and looked the other way as they enriched uranium to near-weapons grade. Trump is the first president to say the regime’s nuclear ambitions end — one way or another.

If Vance’s optimism proves correct and a real denuclearization agreement is reached, it will be the most significant national security achievement since Reagan ended the Cold War.

OUR TAKE

You can disagree with the methods. But the results speak for themselves. Iran is at the table. A deal is reportedly close. And the military is making sure Iran knows exactly what happens if they walk away.

That is peace through strength — not a bumper sticker. A strategy.
