An illegal alien truck driver from India crossed our border in 2023, got a free pass from the Biden administration, and two years later left two people dead on a California highway — then ran.
On May 19, 2026, 24-year-old Manvir Singh was arrested by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office near Lodi, California, after his commercial big rig jackknifed on northbound Highway 99, careened off the road, slammed into a guardrail, and triggered a deadly chain-reaction crash involving three other vehicles. Two people were killed. Singh allegedly fled the scene on foot before being taken into custody.
ICE has since lodged an immigration detainer with local authorities, seeking to transfer Singh into federal custody. He now faces charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, hit-and-run resulting in death or injury, and resisting or obstructing a police officer.
DHS confirmed the immigration angle through Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin: Singh entered the United States illegally through Arizona in 2023 — was caught by Border Patrol — and was then RELEASED into the interior of the country under the Biden administration.
He walked free. Got behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler. And two Americans paid for it with their lives.

WHAT HAPPENED
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 12:20 p.m. on May 19 after Singh’s big rig jackknifed and lost control on one of California’s busiest freight corridors. The crash was catastrophic — three other vehicles were caught in the collision. Two victims were killed instantly. Singh did not stay to face what he had done. He abandoned the wreck and fled on foot. Authorities caught up with him shortly after.
DHS confirmed Singh, a national of India, illegally crossed the border in Arizona in 2023. Border Patrol apprehended him. Under established federal immigration law, that should have triggered detention and removal proceedings. Instead, the Biden administration did what it did to hundreds of thousands of others — released him into the country on the honor system and wished him luck.
He was issued or obtained a commercial driver’s license. He was operating a fully loaded big rig on a major California highway. And when the worst happened, he ran.
DHS noted that Singh’s arrest marks the FOURTH illegal immigrant truck driver with the last name “Singh” to be accused in a fatal crash since last year — a pattern federal officials described as a growing and deeply troubling trend involving illegal immigrant commercial drivers from India.

WHY THIS MATTERS / WHAT THEY’RE NOT TELLING YOU
Here’s what the mainstream media won’t put front and center: this was entirely preventable.
The United States Border Patrol caught Manvir Singh at the border. The system worked — until it didn’t. The Biden administration made a deliberate policy choice to release him rather than detain him. No background check sufficient to keep him out. No follow-through. No accountability. Just a release notice and a wave goodbye.
THAT DECISION KILLED TWO PEOPLE. And the politicians who made it will never spend a single day in a courtroom answering for it.
Meanwhile, California — a sanctuary state — sat on its hands. ICE lodging a detainer means nothing in a jurisdiction that routinely declines to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The only reason Singh is in custody at all is because he committed a crime so catastrophic, even local law enforcement had no choice.
These are the same open-borders politicians who call ICE the problem. Who call deportation cruel. Who fund sanctuary city policies with your tax dollars while burying the names of the Americans those policies get killed.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
This isn’t an isolated incident — and DHS is saying so explicitly. Four illegal immigrant truck drivers named Singh. Four fatal crashes. A pattern that stretches from Florida to California to Oregon to Pennsylvania. Illegal aliens operating commercial vehicles on American highways, hauling freight through American communities, with no legal right to be in this country at all.
While you were paying $6 for diesel and watching your insurance premiums climb, the Biden administration was handing catch-and-release tickets to people who had no legal standing to be here — and looking the other way while they obtained CDLs and got behind the wheel of 80,000-pound machines.
Two families in Lodi, California, are now planning funerals. They deserved better. America deserves better.

OUR TAKE
Manvir Singh should never have been on that highway. He should never have been in this country. The Biden administration made sure he was — and two Americans are dead because of it.
ICE acted when it could. But ICE shouldn’t be cleaning up a mess that was deliberately created by politicians who treated the southern border like a suggestion and American lives like an acceptable cost of doing business. President Trump is right to unleash enforcement. He’s right to end catch-and-release. And every politician who fought him on it owns a piece of what happened on Highway 99.
We’re not backing down from saying it.
